Whether by predation or scavenging, some animals have to consume others to survive. From a black skimmer slicing the water with its lower mandible, to wolves running down elk, the act of predation is always exciting to witness. Here are some of the images I've been able to capture over the years of predators and prey fulfilling their role in the food web.
At a certain time each year, spring for birds, fall for large mammals, the males and females of each species get together and preform their courtship and mating rituals. From the delicate beauty of the egrets feathers, to the majestic power of bison bulls, the rut offers some of the years most memorable images.
